Your Appointment
Once you visit our clinic in Boca Raton for your evaluation, we start the application process that same day. The state of Florida takes anywhere from 25-30 days on average to approve and issue your Medical Marijuana ID Card.
During your appointment, the medical marijuana doctor will:
- Obtain informed consent from the patient or parent/legal guardian to allow treatment
- As required by Florida law, determine if the patient/family agrees that there are no other satisfactory alternative treatment options and then make a record on the patient’s chart accordingly
- Document any changes in the patient’s treatments or medical status
- Make a record of a specific dosing plan and method of administration such as inhaled/vaporized, oral tincture, capsule, etc
It is important to note that prior to the second appointment the patient’s chart should contain documentation from the mental health provider or physician who originally diagnosed or is presently treating the qualifying condition or symptom. There are also other additional documentation requirements for patients under 18 or patients with a terminally ill condition.

FL Compassionate Use Registry
After your appointment, you will be placed in the Compassionate Use Registry where a unique Patient ID number will be generated after all requirement are met.
Get Your Medical Cannabis ID Card
Once you are entered into the registry, you will now be able to obtain a Florida medical cannabis card. Applications are submitted to the Office of Compassionate Use where an ID number and temporary ID will be issued to you.
Getting Medical Cannabis from State Approved Dispensaries
LifeBoost will supply you with a list of state-approved dispensaries where you can order up to a 70-day supply at any time by the ordering physician.
Do Quarterly Follow Ups
LifeBoost also helps to remind patients to do quarterly follow-ups to remain active on the Compassionate Use Registry. This will allow your physician to give you the best evaluation and determine the best course of action for treatment so that you can remain active in the Compassionate Use Registry.
